Charlotte's First (Real*) Haircut

*You may remember that Charlotte's first haircut took place in my mom's kitchen, and opinions differ as to whether that incident does, in fact, constitute a "real" haircut.

Charlotte's hair had gotten long and kind of scraggly. It was time for a haircut, and we decided that she'd look awfully cute with a little bob. We loaded up the car one morning and off we went to the same kids' hair salon where Jensen had his first haircut. Knowing our Charlie, we anticipated some wailing and tears, and we were not disappointed! Fortunately, we came prepared with many helpers: Me, my mom, Auntie Tammy (who watched Jensen) and Brian (who was in charge of photos/videos. How many people does it take to get a three-year-old's hair cut? In our case, four.

Fortunately, the hairdresser managed to give her a cute little bob in record time, so the crying was short-lived. But it sure was dramatic while it lasted!

There were multiple attempts to escape from the taxi.

Brother brought over a toy to try to cheer up his sis. Didn't work, but sweet gesture.

Finished product...cute little summertime bob.

Later that day, when she'd recovered from her traumatic day of beauty.
She really likes her new 'do. Especially the fact that it doesn't take me as long to brush it! But we're hoping her hair doesn't grow too fast...we need some time to prepare for Charlotte's next trip to the salon!
