Fall (So Far)

We've had lots going on so far this fall! Here's a brief rundown of the highlights:

In late September I turned 33! My brother's birthday is two days after mine and he turned 30, which is a slightly bigger deal than turning 33, so I just decided to forgo really doing anything for my birthday and just tag along on his birthday dinner.

We also had a family birthday dinner at a place in Dallas called Smoke.

Next, Charlotte perfected her tantrum/pout. It's a blurry picture but I believe you can still get the effect.

She also continues to LOVE reading and can memorize a book like nobody's business! We so enjoy her dramatic readings!

Pumpkin patch visits! If there is one thing my kids love, it's a pumpkin patch. We had to drive by the spot for the one at their school every morning just to see if it was there yet. When the pumpkins were finally out, we were there all the time.

Ha! Little Dude seems to have been over all the picture taking.

Charlotte got another haircut! We went pretty short this time and I love it.

In this pic I had just told her that maybe her sunglasses weren't on correctly and she was looking at me like I was a total idiot.

We also carved pumpkins for the first time as a family. The kids really enjoyed it! And by really enjoyed it, I mean they really enjoyed playing in the yard while Brian and I carved the pumpkins.

We also made our annual trip out to the Arboretum to see all the pumpkins. It really is quite amazing. We went with our pal Ellison and the kids had a great time!

Ellison got her face painted; neither of my kids wanted in on that!

Charlotte did surprise me, though, by getting really into brushing the sheep!

And here we have Charlotte's current smile that she does for pictures. Isn't it lovely??

A few more examples of the smile. Cristi says she looks like Chandler from "Friends", and I have to agree!

Yes, this is her school picture!
Brian, Wyatt, Mr. Bear and I went to GRRNT's annual picnic. I sure do love my Mr. Bear!

Brian and I got to go to Vegas for the annual fastener show. It was so much fun...and I would not have been sad if we'd had to stay a few extra days!

Me and my lookalike sister-in-law.

Cristi and I enrolled the kids in a musikgarten class. It has been...well, interesting. The kids spend most of their time there doing this:

Yes, basically running amok. We should probably stop this behavior, but quite frankly, all the other kids are doing it too and we really don't blame them!

And finally, a few random pics...

Swingin' with Aunt Biff

My mom got the kids bikes with training wheels and Little Dude is a natural.

Next up...Halloween and Thanksgiving 2013!
