Weekend Update: We Love New York(ers) Part 2

Another busy, fun-filled weekend for the Shelton fam! Jensen and his little New Yorker buddy Jake had so much fun playing together last weekend that Robin and I knew we had to get them together again while they were still in town. So we had a full house on Saturday as we were joined by Robin, Jake, Drew, Louise, Cristi, Clemma, my mom, Tammy and Al! Whew! (Don't worry, Brian managed to slip out to Jonathan's house somewhere in the middle of the chaos.)

Here are a few pics of the madness...

Jensen watching his buddy. It is seriously so sweet to see them together, because Jensen just follows Jake around...you can tell he thinks Jake is so cool!

"He got me!"

Playing together on the nap nanny while Tammy gets some cuddle time with Drew.

Charlotte finally ventured down from her safe place on Grandma's lap. It looks like Jake is giving her a lesson in using the exersaucer!

The boys had such a great time playing together, and we are all so excited that in September we will get to add Baby Wren to the mix!

The rest of the weekend was a bit more relaxing...on Saturday evening my parents babysat so Brian and I could enjoy a fun dinner at Cantina Laredo with Nick & Hilari and Jonathan & Tiffany. On Sunday, we had plans to visit with both sets of Grandparents...but first, I had a project to do: Clean and re-organize the laundry room! I didn't take any "before" shots, but suffice it to say that it was one of our house's disaster areas.

The cabinets "after": reorganized with help from my 31 products!

Prior to this, all the laundry detergent, etc. had just been sitting out on top of the washer (the cabinets are really hard to reach since the washer/dryer are so tall). Now, they are all going to stay in the tote on top of the dryer for easy access. And yes, there is laundry in the dryer. What else is new??

After that exciting project, Brian's parents stopped over for awhile to see Charlotte and Jensen. Brian's mom has had a run of bad luck lately (first a broken arm and most recently pneumonia) and hasn't been able to spend as much time with Charlotte and Jensen as she'd like, so she was excited to see all that they had been up to. They were able to see Jensen's almost-walking and C & J chow down on their lunch.

Next we were off to my parent's house for a Sunday dinner of fajitas. But first, J got a little playtime in with his Uncle Dot:

Uncle Dot was trying to pose Jensen, but J was having none of it.
So that just about sums up our weekend. Now it's spring break, which used to mean nothing to me except more crowds everywhere I went. It now means my teacher friends are off work and more playdates for Charlotte and Jensen! I love this age...it's so fun to see C & J beginning to interact with (and yes, steal toys from) the little people whom I hope will turn out to be their lifelong friends.
